Candy tagged me for this meme, which is to do the following:

- Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself.
- Tag 7 random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs.
- Let each person know that they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Since I like Candy, (and lists. I love lists.) I will now graciously bestow the following Fun! Facts! about myself (and desperately try to think of seven people to tag who would not have already seen this. le sigh).

1. I wear black a lot. Like, I think I have 2 red shirts, 1 green sweater, 1 brown sweater, and 70 kabillion black sweaters, shirts, pants, etc. But I really love color. I just think black is slimming and looks the best on my apple shape. (Once, this guy called me “an egg on stilts.” I have never forgotten that.)

2. My second grade teacher’s name was Mrs. Saurbear. It was pronounced “Sour Bear.” This is not made up. She was an evil hag who hated both me and, later, my sister. I have awful stories about the awful things she did to us, but it makes my stomach cramp just to think about it and while I love y’all, internet, I’m so not ready to share that ugliness with you.

3. I like movies, but …
a.) I don’t like spending $9 to sit in the dark
b.) I like being able to
1.) talk through a movie (in a quiet, respectful of other patrons sort of way)
2.) get up and pee without missing anything
c.) I can’t rent from Bl0ckbuster anymore, because they think I owe them $7 in late fees and I still am adamant that those movies were returned on time and someone didn’t check the box until the next day
Thus, we buy a lot of movies (especially when they are on sale) and watch them at home. Ad nauseum, until we can quote many, many more movies than should be legal.

4. I currently owe $0.40 in fines at the library. I have no plans to pay that anytime soon.

5. I used to work as a security guard in a parking deck on campus. I lived in the dorm next door and was able to drag my ass walk to work every morning. I had to be there by 5:55 am and often I would wake up at 5:50, throw on a sweater and sunglasses and go. I had a coworker who had lupus and he would discuss indie music with me. His favorite band was a little-known Canadian group called (wait for it) The Barenaked Ladies

6. I was a drama geek in high school. I mean it. I was in plays, I was the choreographer, AND the assistant director. I was the president of the drama club. In college freshman year, I was cast in the first play I tried out for, which was a huge deal, because freshman NEVER got cast. I went on to be one of the founders of a new drama club there, the first in something like 50 years. (I burned out by Junior year because of politics.) In grad school, upon acting the part of a patient for a class, one of my professors told me, “you’ve missed your calling.” And sometimes? I think I have.

7. I am totally superstitious and believe that things happen for a reason. I also think that there are no such things as coincidences. Also? I think things have a way of working themselves out, with very little effort on my part. Which is why I sometimes get into trouble by ignoring things and procrastinating until the last minute.
